What would cause me to lose my internet connection?

I keep dropping my internet connection.
I repair it in my control panel, reboot, and it's back working again.
Sometimes I have to reboot my modem and router.
All the machines in the house are networked. I use a linksys befw11s4 router and a befcmu10 modem.
Yesterday it happened about 20 times. Today it's already happened 4 times.
I checked connections everywhere and didn't find any problems.
It appears that my machine is the source of the problem.
Any ideas?

9:29 am edit:
I just went and checked all my cable connections. I did find a mildly loose one behind my desk.
I checked all my cat5 connections and didn't find anything noteworthy.
It's gone out 7 or 8 times now this morning. This most recent pain in the ass lasted about 1/2 and hour.

Are the other machines in the house able to access the net while your computer cannot?

Nope.
After doing the checking and getting back up, I haven't lost my connection for about 38 minutes.
I'm hoping that was the problem. :)

My connection lasted an hour and I lost it again.
I called tech support for Adelphia and I really think it's an intermiitancy in the service.
I'm going to go to Staples and pick up a new modem in order to rule that out.
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the modem is the problem. It's got a lot of years on it running 24/7. I just had to replace the matching Linksys router a few months ago.

While I was on with the tech the connection dropped 3 times. I scheduled an appointment for them to come out Tuesday and see if they can find any problems.
In the meantime, the new modem should tell me if the modem is the problem.

My modem was running pretty hot, too. They stack, so I moved my router under my modem.
I just looked over and I've dropped my connection while I was typing this motherfvcker. Sonofabitch.
I'm going to go to Staples right now. Fvck.

Okay, so everything is up and I have the feeling that everything is going to be okay.
I think the culprit was my power adapter for my modem.
After adding the new modem I was still having problems. I changed out the adapter to the new one that came with the new modem and haven't had a problem for a little bit now.
If it turns out that was the problem, i'll shyt.

Sucks that you had to buy a new modem... hopefully that was the problem.
