Last night about 10 minutes after I shut my system down it just fired back up for no apparent reason.

What would cause this?

Is your PC connected to a network?

Check if you have wake on LAN or wake on Ring enabled in your BIOS... that might be the thing that's waking your PC up...

My Dad's PC used to turn on whenever the phone rings... turns out it's because he has wake on Ring accidently enabled...

Well it is connected to a switch which feeds to another machine and then the switch to a router to the net...

I've never seen this in my life... the system I just built... however I've never seen a system randomly turn itself on.

Then maybe it's Wake on LAN... go into your BIOS settings and make sure Wake on LAN is disabled...
