What would be the easiest way to transfer data from one memstick to another?

I'm looking at getting an 8Gb memstick for my PSP as my current 1Gb stick is running out of room.

If I went and bought an 8Gb stick, what would be the easiest way to copy all the data over from the 1Gb card?

Would it be as easy as just copying the entire memstick onto my laptop and then putting that data back on to the 8Gb card?

Thanks.

K, sorry wasn't sure. I mean it seems logical, but dunno if the PSP would just pick up reading the new memstick with the copied data as if nothing had changed or if there had to be some special recovery kinda deal like 360's HD transfer cable stuff.

Sony's software is far easier to deal with than Microsoft's. I went from a 32MB memory stick to 8GB. It was painless. In fact, I just connected my PSP to my computer and used the latter as a holding center.

How would installing an entirely separate program be easier than just copy and paste in Windows?

What are you talking about?

I just plug the PSP in to USB, select "USB Connection" under settings, then copy the folder that has all your saves.

now if only sony would get their prices in line with the rest of the memory card community.

Cool, for what? Plug your PSP into the PC via USB and drag and drop the file folders. You answered your own question in the OP. Did you even try what you suggested? 😕
