What would be the better option for cooling of my card (airflow/fan in case)

I have a Gigabyte GTX 660 TI 2X Windforce

The first picture is pretty much the setup I have. I also have mounted a 120mm fan right there where he has it, on the side, bottom of case blowing right over the 660 TI HSF.

My question is whether it would be better for cooling to mount a 80mm right at the door (see 2) (sucking air in through the opening), rather than the 120mm inside because the 120mm is approx 1.5" from the opening in the side panel?

Do you think it matters? ALL TWO fans (the internal 120mm plus a 80mm wont work because of clearance, just wanting to know which way to cool might be more effective.)

Alternative: Mounting 80mm at the side panel (lower openings) and blowing air OUT????

I am not sure what you are trying to say. I only see (1) and (2) and in both cases you are talking about mounting a 120mm fan. Do it. Make it blow into the case. There is only one other mounting spot and it's above the one you labeled (2). You can also mount a fan above that one, but it will likely be of benefit to the CPU more than the GPU.

If the q is whether to mount inside or outside of the case, inside is much cleaner and lets you stick some foam or dryer sheets on the outside as a filter.

Anyway, always blow in, don't blow out. It helps with positive pressure and dust, plus someone did a study a few years ago about fan mounting placements and proved that it either doesn't make a difference or is better if you get the sidefans blowing into the case.

My guess is the 120mm will be more effective by sheer volume of air. The air inside your case probably isn't much warmer than the air outside.
