What would be the better experience..travelling Europe vs. Asia

With travelling Europe being the really popular thing nowadays, I can't get really get myself too excited to take such a trip. Sure there's endless landmarks and sightseeing, but overall it just seems like a very different version of America, for better or worse.

Asia on the other hand is like being in an exotic new world, and I think if you're going to go to a distant land it should be nothing like home at all..

Of course I'm asian so that may bias me a bit, but just the thought of heading to Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Hong Kong etc..seems vastly more exciting than Paris, London, Munich, Venice..

Or maybe I just want to go to a place where my wang isn't smaller than everyone else's.

Anyone ever done a tour of both with thoughts to share?

asia...liek you said, europe is western culture just like the us...have fun in asia...stop by in bombay if you can...its an amazing city, differnet kind of asia if you will, still asia but different

I think Europe would be much easier to do. Asia seems less integrated which likely makes travel between countries more difficult, though I've never been to either. I'm sure either would be very interesting and worthwhile. I think you're overstating similarities between North America and Europe.

I think either would be awesome. I spent some time in the UK and that was pretty awesome, but I took a course on the history of southeast Asia last semester and I'd definitely be up for a trip over there.

yup... there are quite a few flashpoints in asia right now that can spark ww3. other than that, Asia is a pretty pleasant place, and any of the cities that you've listed (seoul, tokyo, taipei, singapore, shanghai) are the most advanced cities in the world and really reflect the asian culture of always being on the cutting edge. For historical sight seeing, nothing beats Europe.

You're right, it seems like Europe would provide a better historic tour, whereas Asia can provide a great futuristic tour..which appeals more to the geek in me.

But still, China is as old as any European country out there, I'm sure there's plenty to be seen there as well..though probably not to the extent the Coloseum and Stonehenge or whatever can provide.

There's lots to see in China on the same level as Coloseum or Stonehenge. However, an individual of European descent that lives in western civilization those things in China are not as relevant. That does not mean there are not places in China or any other asian country on the same level as those you mentioned...

yeah i dunno why people think its soem exotic place...its not, its a westernized country with simliar outlook as the us and europe.

Yep, about the only non-westernized thing you find in Japan everyday life is the food (NOT a place for vegetarians though). Western food is there too of course, but unlike pretty much every other aspect of their culture that's been taken to the trash or stuffed into the corner, the Japanese flavor remains dominant
