recently the video card on my work computer just died, and IT buddy just busted out a Trident 8mb PCI card. and it worked! (running WinXP @ 800x600, 16bit on a 17' LCD, yuck)

I remember I used to have one of those, and an Intel 740 card. those two cards worked without drivers under Win98se!

anyway, this makes me wonder, would an old school PCI card makes a better troubleshooting video card, or an AGP would make a better, more modern choice? ? (can Vista run on a PCI card?)

Well pci will work in any pc out there.
AGP can be hit or miss depending on how old/new the pc is.
