what would be the best case to get to make an external hd?

since external hds are so expensive, i'm going to make a western digital 180 gb hd a removable hd. what would be the best removable case to buy? also, to hook the hard drive up to a computer w/ usb 2.0 do you just simply need an ide to usb 2.0 cable w/ pwr adapter?

I would just buy an USB 2.0 external enclosure instead. and put the hard drive in there. It is only about $30 or less.
