I want a small PC to put into my entertainment center that I can watch MLB.tv (check out http://www.mlb.tv) ostensibly I cannot play it via XBMC (xbox media center) or XBOX 360, so I'd need a separate computer for this.

I have a License for WinXP MCE, a WinXP MCE remote and a WinXP MCE keyboard, a stick of 1 gig DDR 333 RAM, a USB Thumbdrive Key (if the Mobo could boot via a USBkey) or a laptop hard drive (with an adapter) or a regular hard drive if it fits (i have all three) - since all I would need is just the OS and whatever software that plays the video. I'd like to do it as small and as cheap as possible.

MLB.tv has two modes - a premium and a regular - I want to use the premium - they also have what is called MOSIAC mode where you can watch 6 games at once - I'd like to try that as well. The stats on the site call for a fairly primitive PC:

1GHz pentium or AMD equivalent
RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: Direct X 9.0c Compatible with 64 MB of Video RAM
150 MB hard drive
Broadband
Windows Media Player 9+
DirectX9.0c and Net 2.0
any Windows 2000 OS (XP, Vista, etc.)

for a mac:

1Ghz pwoer PC
512MB Ram
64 MB of video RAM
100MB of hard drive
Software: java 1.5 release 5 flip4mac 2.1, OS 10.4.5
broadband connection

is my best bet to get an old mac mini or what?
