I know there must be tones of companies in the US like the retail computer company I work at but I'm curious to know what they are. So I work for NCIX just go to NCIX.com to see their site. Basically we are a low margin higher volume retailer. Something like a small NewEgg, though in Canada we are relatively large. The difference is that we also have retail outlets as well as a website/warehouse business. We have 7 or 8 stores and expanding. Customer can order online and chose to pick up at one of our stores for free, or chose to have it shipped out from our warehouse. The retail stores used to look like fronts for our warehouse, down to a number system where people take a number and we call out "serving number 12 next!" and they give us their order etc.. However this has changed a lot and most of our retail stores now look more like brick and mortar outlets (though small ones). We still have a lot of people just coming in with lists of parts they want and have us ring it through but we also get a lot of walk in clientele now. People who don't know what they want, just like any computer store. Aside from parts we also do system assemblies for customers ($50 assembly fee gets them a 1 year warranty as well). Basically they either tell us exactly what they want in their system or they come to us and we help them assemble a system to suit their needs, usually picking from parts we have on sale at the time. We have weekly sales every week where we have 2-300 items on sale all the time. We also have small to medium sized corporate clients, though usually these are handled by corporate sales. Usually smallish corporate stuff, 10 or 20 monitors here, 5 or 10 systems there, etc... Not usually hundreds of systems. So basically we are 1/2 way in between your ma and pa computer store and something like NewEgg and we offer services of both.
