I would get a PC Power and Cooling 510-600watt PSU...But yuou may look at some other brands such as seasonic and my tried and true OCZ...I would not touch anything below 500watts

My 600watt OCZ powerstream can power my QX6700 oc'd to 3.3ghz with 2gb of ram, 6800GT@ultra speeds, multiple HDDS, multiple fans, and 2 drives

I'd buy this psu: 610 watt PC P&C Silencer. That's the one that's become extremely popular with most people who are running 8800GTX's, along with an overclocked C2D; that's the reason their prices have skyrocketed at newegg in the last month. And I'd personally buy this one, if I thought I might be adding a second 8800GTX any time in the future: 750 watt version; it's prices have also skyrocketed in the same time period, because it's what most people who're running two 8800GTX's are using.

I am up in the air on cooling still....I would try to find a lower profile cooler then the scythe ninjas, typhoons and tuniq towers so you can incorporate an Aerocool case like I just got...It has a 25cm side fan that pushes 160cfm at a low audible rate...It also has a 14cm front intake and 12cm outake fan.....Should be beautiful for my quad core...waiting on a new lower profile HSF to test out...the height of the scythe HSFs are anywhere from 150mm to 180mm high and they conflict with the side fan...About 150mm above the mobo surface may be max allowable to get it to work with the side fan....

The Antec 900 is nice with the 20cm fan at the top exhausting air....

It would but what I like about the PC Power and cooling is one very powerful 12v rail....The gamestream has quad 12v of 18a rails but when combined doesn't offer 4x18 or 64a...in actuality likely only offers 45a....The 610 watt PC Power and Cooling is like 49a on the 12v rail....

the price is good and it likely will work, but you are basically settling for the corvette when you culd have the ferrari....

deos it have to be at newegg? Do you have a fryes near you? If you do I just saw 610 PC Power and Cooling PSUs in their stoe and I think they were cheaper then the newegg listed price and you could avoid the shipping cost...

Try here...this is a good guy...

I like as little noise as possible, with performance to boot.

Therefore:

PSU - Corsair HX620 (+12V = 50A since the three separate 18A rails aren't really separate)
http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=32
Quietest powerful PSU out there

Case fans to consider - Noctuas, S-Flex, Nexus.

E6700?
Sorry, but they're a waste of money since every E6600 will clock just as high.
E6600 ftw here.

Patriot?
That RAM was supposed to be D9GMH, but now no one really knows.

Since you're spending alot (& you will save alot by not getting the E6700), get some RAM that's guaranteed to be excellent.

Or if for some strange reason you don't like that option, then there's:
Crucial Ballistix
G.Skill "HZ"

Good luck :)

And so which HSF and case would you get for this system from Newegg? Newegg does not carry the Antec 900. We're not talking anything crazy like a water cooling system, are we (again, new to overclocking)?
Nearly everyone who had that psu had to replace it with something more powerful on the 12v rail, once they got an 8800GTX.
