Hello,

I am trying to sell my 2 year old DELL Inspiron 8100 laptop. It is in excellent condition, and nothing is wrong with it, just time for me to get a new one!

I was hoping some of you could take some time off, and use your expertise and look at the following specs, and tell me what you would think is a suitable price for this laptop. I was hoping to get around 750 - 800 for this one? What do you think?

Specs
Processor : 1 GHz Intel Pentium III
RAM : 256 MB
Resolution : SXGA+ (1400x1050)
Screen : 14.1
Video : 16 MB nVidia GeForce 2 GO with S-Video Out & External Monitor Connection
Drives : CD/DVD-ROM Drive, 1.44 Floppy Drive
Ports : 2 USB Ports,1 Firewire (IEEE 1394) Ports, InfraRed Port, 1 Serial Port, 1 Parallel Port, 1 PS/2 Port
Hard Disk : 10 GB
Modem : Integrated 56 kbps V.90 Data/Fax Modem

Will give the following items for FREE with laptop
FREE Ethernet Card (Linksys 32-bit PC Cardbus CArd) - Sells for $40 otherwise
FREE Wireless Card(Netgear 802.11b PCMCIA card) - Sells for $60 otherwise
FREE Kensington Laptop Case - Sells for $40 otherwise

I guess, I should mention that it came with Windows ME and that is what I will be selling this with! and will be giving away all the software cd's that come with DELL, unopened/unused!

Thanks in advance!!

That sounds about right. The HDD does make it a bit undesirable tho. EDIT: And Windows ME. <shudder>

I know! the hard drive is TINY..

but for just basic school/academic work or a small time user, it might be fine! obviously not for ppl who download 5 gig movies and watch them on the laptop!

funny, i'm selling my 2GHz Pentium 4 inspiron 1100 with 30 gig HDD/ 256MB ram/ CDRW+DVD/ built in ethernet+modem/ winxp for $750. doens't come with all your free carryign case etc, but its in mint condition, still under warranty too.

i think you're asking for too much. considering you can go to dell.com and go to the refurb section and get pentium 4's for what you're asking for.
