Budget = $50 (PSU not included)

Features I am looking for in the board:

-Must support P3 socket 370 mobos as well as P4 Northwood mobos.
-Must have good 'head' room for HS and Fans
-Is well ventilated

Also what is the P4 form factor called? like P3 mobo uses form factor ATX!

Thanx

50 dollars can get you an adequate case that you'll need for the ventilation.. don't look for any of the aluminum (or some other alloy, I forget) etc, type cases that are super light weight - those don't start until about 150 dollars :(

You will want to go to PC CLUB to check out their cases, they have the best case selection for under 50 dollars.... you can get a lot for your money there. I would advise to go to Fry's also, but for some reason, their cases seem extremely expensive considering that you're only getting so many bays and ventilation peaks. And to answer your form questions ATX cases can be Pentium 4 ready :)

Good luck

The Antec SX635 is a good choice. It has a 350 watt P4 powersupply included. It supports both the PIII and P4 motherboards. With the powersupply it's only $85.

Is there really a difference between a well made ATX case and a case made for
P4's???

This is a beautiful P4 case with a solid 300w Enermax PS unit. I saw it at Fry's and it is just as good looking as in the pics.
It seems in your budget, I would get it.

the case recommended above, I have. First of all it is pretty well made. I like it (sort of). It has very poor airflow, you need to mod the hell out of it. Second of all, only 2 of those 4 5 1/2 in bays are usable. You cannot insert a drive into the bottom two because it bumps against capacitators and/or RAM... therefore think of it as a case with only 2 bays. The drive cage is a bit cheap, and is hard to reattach sometimes... I would give it a 6 / 10.

If you want more info, PM me.

Question 1: Why buy a P4 in the first place?
Question 2: If you have the extra dough for a P4, why be stingy on the case?

Okay, i have another thread floating around here some where regardig y i am buying this case. Currently i own a P3 and intend to keep it for another 3-4 month (hopefully P4 price will be down by then). I need to buy case now as i am making a PC for my bro and might as well give him my current case and buy a P4 ready one for myself.

You're not going to find a case like that for under $50. The Antec SX830 is a nice case because it already has several built-in fan placements for nice cooling without modifications to your case.
