What would be a good cooling system for this system if the user will be overclocking it?

? Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6700

? eVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card
? Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit

Water cooling? Depends how much the user wants to overclock really, you could quite happily just use a case with a couple of 120mm fans and a decent CPU Cooler.

Tuniq Tower 120 for the CPU
If you like big cases with tons of space, try a Thermaltake Armor

Also, from what I hear (since I only have an e6300), you get better results overclocking the e6600 over the e6700, you may wish to look at some of the posts on that.

Thanks. It seems as though that HSF is always out of stock at newegg.com. How about this one?

ROFLMAO.... i agree with this statement.. if u have no knowledge of watercooling, which im assuming u dont because if u did, u wouldnt be asking this question.

Your gonna need lots and lots of fans because of that rediculously sexy, but majorly overpowered videocard 😛

Well, my rig is almost identical to yours, except I'm going with an E6600 and different RAM, but nearly the same rig.

Also, I got the Tuniq Tower. Reviews are quite good on it. It's big though, so that is part of why I got the case that I did get, mentioned below.

That being said, I decided on this case GIGABYTE 3D AURORA . I chose this case for a few reasons...I don't mind a full-tower and it gives plenty of room for airflow. It also has built-in tubing holes if I decide to go water-cooling down the road. It also has 3- 120mm fans (1 in, 2 out). Couple that with a Tuniq Tower (I got mine at xpcgear.com...in stock and 3-day shipping for total of @ $64), and we both should be good.

Hope that helps and good luck! It should be a killer rig.

Oh, one more thing...I also decided to get a PCI slot fan to blow directly onto the 8800GTX. Something like this: Solid fan. IMO, you'll have plenty of room and you can never have enough cooling, right? 🙂

Good luck!

I got my Tuniq Towers from FrozenCPU.com.

Owner is a member here, always been great to work with.

I'm actually builing my 2nd system around the TT Armor case, it's huge, heavy, and keeps things fairly cool 🙂
