If it had a 3.8ltr and was in otherwise good shape maybe a grand or two.
There are only a handful of American cars from the 80s that have any real collector value, and a Cutlass Ciera isn't one of them.

My 89 Cutlass Ciera had that.

I sold it for $500 about three years ago. There were about 30k miles on the replacement engine, 150,000 something on the car itself. It had been repainted so it looked pretty good, but the rust was approaching fast. Nothing wrong with it mechanically, I just wanted something newer.

I had a 1987 and 1989 cutlass cruiser (station wagon version). The first one had like 580,000 km on it and we sold it for a few hundred bucks. The 2nd one had around 400,000 km on it and sold it for 500 bucks, but it was in pretty good condition suprisingly. Is yours a station wagon? Those were nice cars, you could fit everything into them.

pre 1988 3.8L were not as reliable as the "3800". The engine cover should say "3800".

If the car is an Olds Eighty Eight, it would have a 3.8L (or 3800)
If it's a ciera, run.

I am just about to sell my wifes 1990 olds 88. It's mechanicaly good with only 70,000 miles. The rust is starting to have it's way with the rear quarters though. I hope to get $750 - $1000 for it on CL

Ha, this thread reminds me of my ex girlfriend trying to say her Oldsmobile would be worth money because they are discontinuing them. She had a Cutlass Ciera too, only it had the crap Quad 4 engine, which is arguably one of the worst 4 cyl. engines ever made. (Noisy as all hell too)

Needless to say, she sold it to a scrap yard for like $75 when the engine blew up.
