I don't know why, but I thought of this in class a long time ago and I haven't looked it up or anything but I also can't think of an answer right off the top of my head.

There is "principle" and "principal" but no "principol"

There is "capitol" and "capital" but no "capitle"

Is there a group of words that are similar at the beginning and use all three different endings?
