What with Tmobile carrying only crappy phones?

They have the worst selection of phones in the industry. They even make nextel look appealing. Why cant they get some decent phones like AT&T verizon?

I was never all that impressed with Verizon's selection of phones, either. AT&T always seems to get the latest Motorola and Blackberry phones first, not to mention their exclusive contract on the iPhone.

I just got a Nokia XpressMusic phone with TMobile. I like it. Sound it great and it's nice and small.

T-Mobile USA still doesn't have a wide-spread 3G network and the one they will be deploying uses a different frequency than the 3G that all other GSM carriers use.

I really don't give a rat's ass what kind of phones they have as long as I can use an unlocked phone on their network.

The 3G that's not compliant with ATT's is going to be problematic though

I disagree, I think in general GSM > CDMA when it comes to the phones the carriers have...so T-Mobile > Sprint/Verizon.

Luckily, they're a GSM network. So I can buy all the cool, unlocked phones I want, and not have to deal with their phones. I bought my first phone ever from T-mobile (actually, Omnipoint in my area at the time) about 10 years ago and never bought another directly from them and it's worked out great for me.

Where do you buy unlocked phones? Just eBay?

Any AT&T phone can be used on T-mobile so I dunno what op is talking about.

And you can buy unlocked phones at many different sites like http://www.myworldphone.com, of course you'll be paying unlocked prices too.

I've botten unlocked phones from AT&T and other carriers to use on T-mobile. I recently bought an HTC Shadow on eBay and it's pretty good.

Funny, I always thought it was Verizon that has poor selection, last to the party with new models, and at significantly higher prices than other companies (not to mention the most expensive service).

I've been enjoying my T-Mobile-branded BlackBerry Curve for nearly a year now. Other than the iPhone, there's not much out there that comes close to it. Movies, music, internet, seamless push email, data-based chat apps, proprietary E*Trade app, Google Maps, Wi-Fi for voice and data, MicroSD compatible, 2.1 MP camera with flash, opens Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader documents, etc. How did I live without it? So I'm plenty happy with their current choices.

I wish they'd come out with more/better WiFi/Hotspot@Home phones that weren't Blackberries but I'm pretty satisfied with their selection. Sure an iPhone would be nice but I can't see myself paying for an iPhone type plan.

i've been very happy with my i760 on verizon, esp. since 6.1 came out for support of 4+ gig microsd, i tether to my macbook pro and my wifes hp, and use wifi for data as well. I waited for the new iphone, but when i saw the only way to tether it was wifi, i went with the i760.
plus got a great deal on it. i kind of like office mobile but wish they would have dumped powerpoint and included access.
