What with Hillary rising in the polls, I've got my investments in health care made

Predicting a massive surge in hospitalizations from folk on the right with ulcers, depression, aneurysms, heart attacks, ruptured spleens etc. when Hillary wins the election, it occurred to me that maybe we'll have a revolution courtesy of the people of the right instead of they wild and woolly lunatic left as one might ordinarily think. What do you think. Is the left or the right more likely to start a rebellion against the mess that's our political system. Who will be our savior, or who do we have to fear, depending, naturally on your take?

Hillary may win the election, but as we all know from his smug bragging, the Dub doesn't read newspapers, and his aides will be as reluctant to tell him he's no longer President as they have to inform him that we're losing in Iraq, so once again the Supreme Court will have to step in and declare Cheney the winner, by a 5-4 vote.

I think we'd be more likely to see an attempt at revolution coming from the right simply because they believe in their religion.

Of course, I'd like to think that working lower and middle class Americans would band together to throw out the current establishment, but I don't think most Americans are smart enough to recognize the nature of the nation's economic problems, so I doubt a populist economy-based revolution will occur anytime soon. Instead, the American middle class will slowly fade away and become a memory as people blame themselves for not having been good enough at their jobs or not having three Ph.D.'s, etc.

Yeah, those nuns can be nasty.

I don't care much for Hillary, but seeing how screwed up the government does things first hand doens't leave me wanting politician run health care. Far from it. The people who brought you Katrina relief, the Iraq war and dozens of other gaffs are going to tell your doctors what they can and cannot do. Not cool.

I have my investments in healthcare in order as well. With Hillary's fascist system she wants to push through with a rubber stamp democrat congress. The healthcare industry is going to see a nice boost is profits at the hands of taxpayers.

Precisely who do you think is going to get a boost?

Pharma's, giant health institutions, medical device manufacturers.

Pharma's-Check
Health institutions (or any other provider or provider organization) No. Providers will take a huge hit.
Medical device Mfgs. Probably not. Hospitals won't have the money to pay for much. It's possible that equipment may be directly purchased and paid for by the Govt, but I don't expect to see the generous payments that defense contractors get.

I am curious how you think Health Institutions with Hillary's forced insurance plan wont benefit? The medical manufacturers will also be allowed to open the endless pit of the tax payers dollar. You do realize social spending dwarfs military? If we are willing to splurge on military contractors, you can only imagine what a bigger industry will recieve.

Are you saying that people will get guns and overthrow the US government because the price of health care stocks go down?

As far as any HRC policies that may outrage people, the appropriate revolution is a "soft" one - vote in new House members. That's what the House was designed with it's more frequent votes etc. her old policies could be overturned, and new ones stymied.

The thing to really fear, IMO, is the SCOTUS. Can't vote them out, and it's a b!tch to over turn them (Constitutional Amendment neccessary). They are uniquely positioned to dramatically change thing as we know it, and without a vote.

Even so, while things may be changed substantially, it's done slowly and incrementally. In this way, and with the media's help, the population accepts it. Afterall, everyone's too busy chasing unneccesary consumer goodies to pay much attention. I supose if that "fix" is interrupted we may see some actio. Otherwise, I doubt it. polititions are too clever at dividing us: rich v. poor, liberal v conservative, urban v rural etc.

Ahh, you probably think that medicaid pays big premiums. No. Reimbursements have been going down for many years now.

Suppose a service costs a thousand dollars to provide. Medicaid provides $975 of that. How many such treatments do you need to turn a profit? What if the provider provides ten such procedures? A hundred, a thousand?

That's the thing. You are confusing spending money with someone making a profit. That's not how it has been in the real world, and it's been the Dems leading the lower than cost reimbursements.

If a billion such procedures were performed, then both the treasury AND providers would be broke.

How about we discuss her plan specifically instead of the usual scaremongering.

Ok, enlighten us as to the specifics of her plan. What will the reimbursement rates be? That's a good start.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my,

Lions and Tigers and Bears . . .

Is the left or the right more likely to start a rebellion against the mess that's our political system.

You've got to be kidding me. The left has disarmed themselves with gun control due to their fear of those evil inanimate objects - what exactly would they use to fight, a rolled up "save darfur" flyer to the eye?

Oh, I don't know. I've seen you severely beaten around here on a thousand occasions by nothing more than cyber-space virtual words.
