What wireless router do you use?

I'm going to buy myself a wireless router this weekend. Was wondering what everyone else was using and how they liked it.

Wrong Forum

First I bought an SMC 7004AWBR which was a huge mistake despite all the positive reviews I read. After working for 2 weeks it constantly needed resetting every single freakin' day, sometimes several times a day. Reformatted our computer, installed all the latest and most up to date patches, drivers and firmwares ... nothing helped.

Then I bought a Microsoft WAP and have been 110% happy since then, I believe it's a rebadged Linksys.

So I'd go with either Linksys or Microsoft.

3 D-Link votes! Wow!

Can't say I'm surprised though... I have a D-Link DI-604 router I'm giving to my dad (he has no interest in wireless right now).

Aw shucks, Rossman! I wasn't looking for a suggestion as much as I was seeing what everyone else was using. I've already decided on a D-Link! 😛

works great! 🙂

Same here,....now the ma101 usb adapter, on the other hand, is troublesome. The configuration utility doesn't work with XP, XP's own configuration utility isn't that good, and you have to turn it off once it connects otherwise it lags the connection.

Wow the D-Link DI-614 is quite popular here you can buy the wireless router for $15 after coupon and rebate.

I'm amazed at how cheap this router has gotten. Last year when I bought it it ran me about $110 after rebate. Well worth it though.

I know what you mean, I remember when the cheapest 802.11b WiFi router was $299 and cards were like $129.

Now you can buy a router and WiFi card for $50 shipped.

A few months ago I bought the Microsoft MN-610 for $79, it's the desktop kit and one of the best purchases I have ever made.

I've got a laptop I use wirelessly at work. It would be nice to be able to be able to use it wirelessly at home, too! 🙂

Besides, I'm thinking about replacing my wife's ailing PC with a sub 4 pound notebook around Xmas time. 🙂

Using an Apple Airport I got with my iMac a year ago.. Works great, but admittedly not the cheapest solution in the world..
