not really an event or anything...just random dinner...but still...i dont wanna show up empty handed.
what kinda wine should i take with me? i heard white meat = white wine and red meat = red wine. is that true. gf and i both like red wine...have no idea about white wine

NICOLAS CATENA ZAPATA REVIEWS

Nicolas Catena Zapata 1999, 94 Points
Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate, Issue 145, Feb 2003

Nicolas Catena Zapata 1999, 93 POINTS.
Highly Recommended.Dense, with roasted cocoa bean, bittersweet chocolate, black currant and blackberry flavors, and a long, powerful finish held together by tongue-pounding tannins. Well-defined now, this should get better in the medium term. Drink now through 2007.
Wine Spectator "The Top 100" Our Editors Select the Most Exciting Wines of 2002, December 31, 2002-Jan 15, 2003

"95 points... it should drink well for two decades"
Robet Parker, The Wine Advocate, June 2000.

I've had Pinot Grigio from Cavit with fish and chicken several times. Quite good wine.
