What will UPS ground do with a poorly built plastic notebook computer?

it'll be fine. For as much crap as UPS pulls, the majority of things make it through ok.

For as many threads as people make about getting a beat up package from UPS, there are probably a thousand or more deliveries where the item is flawless.

I happen to be one of those that have never had a problem with UPS. I never get what the big deal is with the ranting and raving about UPS...

I've been quite happy for the last year with my 1440x900 Dell Insprion 9300. Dunno what kind of high res crack you been smokin. Granted my usual res for stuff 1280x1024 with good old CRT monitors.

It will most likely get there fine.
However it if does get smashed, they will repackage the item and attempt to deliver it to you.
USPS repacked my friend's Z-5500 speakers. And they had the balls to repackage it like crap. Also smashed in the subwoofers frame. There were also several noticiable dents around the sub.
