What will the iPod Touch refresh be?

Do you think it will just be bigger? I can't think of what they might add, except for maybe a faster CPU or more flash.

Don't think they can add much to it, it pretty much has everything except the phone and camera now that the iPhone has.

and gps. and speakers.

I suspect we'll get a bump in capacity, the same plastic backing of the iphone 3G, and maybe gps if we wish really hard. Nothing major. Maybe a bigger screen, but that wouldn't make sense, unless they want to differentiate more from the iphone.

I'm more curious as what they'll do to the ipod/nano. They are almost the perfect device for music IMO. Well, the whole click wheel thing anyway. I'd prefer the form factor of my ipod mini, just thinner.

You won't get GPS, the iPhone uses A-GPS which requires the cellular network for the initial bootstrapping. You'd be doing a cold start with a Touch, which isn't very useful.

If there is a refresh (which seems rather unlikely) it will be all aesthetic, none of the underlying tech changed on the iPhone.

Yea.. I don't see a huge refresh for the Touch, but I think they could sleek out the iPodClassics and give them a bit bigger screen maybe and possibly an even slimmer look. Or just boost the Nano's storage so that it'd be a bit more viable of a media option.

price is dropping pretty fast. It's conceivable they'd do it. Even if it's a bump to 48. Although, I'd gather a $50 price drop and elimination of the 8GB to be possible too.

they could add Bluetooth, I find A2DP to sound pretty bad, but for having wireless it would make it a nice add-on. Seeing how the iPhone doesn't have A2DP I doubt we'll see this, but I think A2DP on mp3 players is definitely going to be big in the near future.

Adding the camera & speakers would be the best possible upgrade, but I bought the Touch knowing Apple would keep those features to the iPhone.

Cut features to make you buy the more expensive model. It makes sense.
