WHAT Will the FORUM of the FUTURE be like?

apoppin

Lifer
Video (like TV)? or anonymity?
Voice in realtime with words automatically typed as we speak?
Touch? That's a controversial future. 😀

What do YOU think forums of the the future will be like?

EDIT: In 25 years we (assuming we survive) will actually see at least the trend of how it will go. We WILL have superfast computers and extremely broadband connections to most of the world.

I am just curious as to how you see yourself interacting in a forum 25 years from now.

Talking Avatars in real time. Like Max Headroom in a pub setting.

People will still be as- Ummm- unique as they are today 😛

It will be like The Street in the book Snow Crash (I hope).

Is this a book I should know about? 😱
Or should I just wait for the movie (or video game)? 🙂

Good book. I am about 3/4 of the way done. Maybe I'll finish it tonight.

It is a world where the Mafia controls pizza delivery, the United States exists as a patchwork of corporate-franchise city-states, and the Internet--incarnate as the Metaverse--looks something like last year's hype would lead you to believe it should. Enter Hiro Protagonist--hacker, samurai swordsman, and pizza-delivery driver. When his best friend fries his brain on a new designer drug called Snow Crash and his beautiful, brainy ex-girlfriend asks for his help, what's a guy with a name like that to do? He rushes to the rescue. A breakneck-paced 21st-century novel, Snow Crash interweaves everything from Sumerian myth to visions of a postmodern civilization on the brink of collapse. Faster than the speed of television and a whole lot more fun, Snow Crash is the portrayal of a future that is bizarre enough to be plausible.
Thanks . . . I'll check the library.

Those who break the rules will be shocked remotely by the mods...

Since it's a voluntary thing to have a Mod chip implanted, it'll be perfectly legal...
