What will humans have in 10,000 years?

After reading the DailyTech article about Hawking's recent predictions and suggestions, it made me curious: what do you all think human technology will offer in, say, 10,000 years? To answer this question make the assumption that by that time humans are NOT wiped out or significantly diminished by any major diseases, asteroids, natural disasters, warfare, etc. If things proceed and grow normally as they have for most of mankind, what do you think the world/galaxy/human race/technology will be like in 10 millenia?

I don't know but I'm sure humans will have evolved by then. Likely with the help of genetic engineering. So I doubt that humans as we know them will still exist.

Does devolution fall outside the guidelines of your thread? I honestly think we'll be fighting over bananas and throwing feces at one another in 10 millenia.

Humans will have tails that can be used for balance just like they did millions of years ago.

The male humans anyways. Only this time the tail will be in front.

I highly doubt that we will be here in 10,000 years. We will either destroy ourselves, destroy the planet thus destroying ourselves/forcing is to move away, or some natural disaster (asteroid, etc) will finish us for us.

We won't make it out of this millenium. We'll kill ourselves by the end of the century. Yes, we're this stupid.

Natural disaster? Not likely. We've only been here a few hundred thousand years. It took around 200 million years or so (my history is a bit fuzzy so these numbers might be a bit off ;)) to take out the dinosaurs.

John Connor: We're not gonna make it, are we? People, I mean.
The Terminator: It's in your nature to destroy yourselves.
John Connor: Yeah. Major drag, huh?

absolutely believe human achievements then are beyond our current imagination

just look back a few centuries, no one would believe things like color television or flight. and before that - artificial light and wireless communication. just unfathomable. and now, you are asking about millenia... its seriously beyond our comprehension
