What will happen to the $.99 menus in ten years?

I mean inflation is going to have to take a toll on the Wendy's $.99 and McDonald's $1 menu, right?

So in ten years will we have the $1.25 menu? Or will it still be $.99 with redicululously small serving sizes?

They'll just start giving you less stuff until people notice , then prices will probably go up.

I went to wendy's the other day, got a 99cent coke, found out it was a medium, not a "biggie". They sure changed that quietly.

Smaller serving sizes will pacify the health food nuts too, because the food will appear "healthier", when in fact, you just get less

Fast food is acutally cheaper today than it was 20 years ago......especially when you consider inflation.

I work in the industry and there is no way it can last much longer.
Fast food have the lowest profit margin and the $1 stuff does not help one bit.
If all the fast food chains decide to get rid of all the $1 stuff at the same time, they would do it in a heart beat.

Things just get smaller for a while. Take Arby's 99 cent menu (if your Arby's has it since a lot of them don't). They have a 99 cent Junior roast beef that has 1.5 oz of beef while every other store has a $1.29 Junior with 2 oz of beef. That same trend will occur everywhere else. You will get 5 nuggets instead of 6, the small fries will get smaller, the medium drink will become a small, etc.

Edit: Sorry I accidently typed in the wrong weight on one of the Juniors - it is now corrected.

It's been medium as far as I remember.

I bought a medium frosty from Wendy's today and it was a small. I asked the girl at the window and she said that is the medium now. I wonder what the small looks like, must be like 4 oz hehe.
