I'm sure they could recreate the old AOL type buzz using their content and broadband
(probably could be free, too ... supported by Google Ads)


or they could make an alternative OS on par with Apple or Linux (probably couldn't touch MS for awhile)



 
I believe neither will happen, but an ISP would be next. They can not develop a new OS because of all of todays standards, it just wouldn't catch on.
 
i think we will see a google content distribution system that runs along side the internet. something similar toi freenet but can take advantage of all the fiber google owns.
