The i815 will have a 100MHz clock, 400MT/s connection to the cpu and to the memory. The memory is an even number of either PC800 or PC600 DRDRAMs (do NOT get PC600 -- it is possible though unconfirmed that this could kill performance incredibly!!) operating in parallel for twice the effective bandwidth of the given DRDRAM. Nice little trick that they used to do with SIMMs.
I think there are four initial motherboard makers. Intel, Asus ... don't remember the other two. A lot of manufacturers are waiting for SDRAM capable chipsets first, I think.
