They must make an enormous sum of money. I purchase almost all of my books from that site, and always pick up a few extra things (DVD's, etc.) along the way. I think I shop there maybe 1-2x/month, at least $25 each time so that I can qualify for free super saver shipping.

I never signed up for that because I'm afraid that I'll forget to cancel it at the end of the 2-month trial and have $79 automatically charged to my credit card.

I'm an Amazon addict  I order all my books from them and anything else I can. Internet shopping is the $hit, I get everything online. The only stores I still go to is the Food store and The gun shop. I figure more I can stay away from the rest of the Human Race the better we both are. :)

Sign up for a new Amazon account and invite the old one to share it.

You can disable automatic sign ups.

Evanescence - The Open Door
The Killers - Sam's Town
Weird Al - Straight Outta Lynwood

Next order will probably be the Linkin Park - Reanimation DVD Audio and U2's Beautiful Day single.

Delgados - Hate, Bruce Cockburn - Breakfast in New Orleans..., Vienna Teng - Dreaming Through the Noise.

I order books and CDs at least 8-10 times a year, but not often enough to make Prine worthwhile.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow - DS
Advance Wars: Dual Strike - DS
Metroid Prime Pinball - DS
Nintendogs - DS

Amazon doesn't make much money. Never have and never will.

I shop maybe once a month at Amazon. Most purchases are under $100.
Now Costco is a different story. I shop there 3-4 times a month and each time I can't leave the store without spending minimum $250. I know Costco makes lot of money.

Ordered a book from a 3rd party vendor through amazon on monday. Emailed the vendor twice about the status of my order, no reply. :(

Sh!t! I just read the feedbacks others gave him, the wording looks like all from the same person!

:| I need my book before the midterm!!

After waiting 3 months for an item to come in stock, I cancelled the order. Every week, they'd send an e-mail saying it'll ship the following week, and then I'd get another e-mail a few days later pushing back my shipping date. Got so fed up with that crap. Haven't shopped there since and probably won't for a while. I used to shop there about once a month prior to that.

3 months is nothing. I ordered a book on 1/29/05 and it was finally shipped on 11/1/05.

They initially told me I'd get it in two weeks.

That's what they told me each month too. They would tell me they'll have it in stock in two weeks, and gave me the option of cancelling my order. I'm just glad the book didn't go out of print.

Never bought anything at Amazon for myself.

I've used my cc to make purchases for my employer that I was reimbursed for. Mostly books. Maybe 3 times.

Guess I shoulda toughed it out. I just heard friends of mine order the same item somewhere else and got it within a month or so. Having to wait so long with nothing to show for it just got to me I guess. Next time I'll know to order an in demand item at multiple places!
