It does seem like it's been a pretty mediocre season for deals. I should probably get around to checking Steam just in case.

Remember Humble Bundle has a lot on sale for the same price as Steam, and they give some to charity; and if you subscribe to their monthly package for $12, you get 10% off any games you buy.

deals this year were garbage... 15 to 20% is not a BF/CM level deal, wth.

most of these prices listed are prices that have been offered at least once before in the last 6-8 months.

Roku streaming stick+: $50 instead of $70. EDIT>> Looks like target has it for $42 so I'll submit a price match via CC.
Samsung 50" 4k tv: $399
Bloomingdale's down comforter: $217 instead of $400 (had a gift card anyway)
Xbox Live Gold 1yr: $40
Lots of kids clothes for like half off in B&M stores.

Didn't really spend much over the weekend. Picked up mostly clothes online on Friday.

Ordered a Vizio E65-E01 from Target today for $696 + tax. I don't think there was a better online deal under $800-900 for a TV this weekend, especially at 65". I sure as hell wasn't stepping foot in a brick & mortar store no matter how much I could have saved.

^ We hit the mall on Sunday and it was nearly empty. Still deals like 50% off entire store like Gap.

More and more are shopping online so the fear of being jammed in like sardines in a store isn't really founded anymore. Well unless you're doorbusting.

Roku streaming stick+ [...] target has it for $42
I ended up grabbing one of those. Not so much because I was dying to get a streaming stick of any sort, but because I can use it and it wasn't all that much more than the non-Plus versions even when they go on sale, which isn't frequently, (And from what I've seen - admittedly mostly only out of the corner of my eye - they don't usually get heavily discounted when they do go on "normal" sale...) That and an electric blanket, discounted plus the extra 15% off, for $18 before tax. Unfortunately, the brand in question (Biddeford) and from what I've seen, all the relatively inexpensive ones like Sunbeam, have gone (further) downhill even from last year's models, but now I can return the one I paid $25 for a few days ago. And at $18, at least it's a basically "disposable" price to go along with what are now pretty much "disposable"-quality blankets...

Also picked up a couple of lighter-weight jackets and other things from Land's End, at 50% off more-or-less list prices. Not that I've thought much of their stuff in general for a while now since the quality has gone way down from the "old days", but at half price-ish, the things that aren't total junk are still good deals. And I can return what I don't want locally at Sears, and "at my leisure", since they accept returns basically forever...

To be honest I though this was a crappy black friday unless you were buying a tv. I did pick up a few 4k blu rays for $10 but didn't see anything else worth a poke. Was shopping for a high end 2:1 laptop but none of the models I saw was deserved a nibble. Didn't even like the deals on phones so I think i'll stick with my 3 year old note 4 another year.

Every year, I buy less and less on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. This year all I got was:

- Roost laptop stands had 25% off (bought 2; they have the best portable stands around)
- Wilson Combat put 1911 parts off for 20% off (bought a couple dozen grips for 1911 and Beretta)
- Cabela's had optics on sale (bought two RMRs)
- Midway had ammo on sale
- Dave and Adams had trading cards on sale (bought a case of Firefly cards among others)
- $300 in Blu-Rays from Best Buy and Target
- Logitech 910 keyboard and G900 mouse from Best Buy ($165)
- MacBook Air when eBay went to 10% eBay bucks ($900)
- Canon 80D ($1000 with $350 rebate)
- Sig magazines (25% off their site)
- $200 in misc parts from Glockmeister ($35 sights) and Glock ($55 for night sights)
- Del Taco $100 gift card with 8 free meals
- Xbox for $190 with $25 gift card from Target

All told, I spent about $7000. Only bought about $100 worth of books and electronics from Amazon. They really dropped the ball this year. In the past, I would buy $5000+ from them alone.

Only $7000.....such shame.

What do you do with stuff that accumulates unused? I have so much crap that was nice to have at one point (maybe even just one minute) and undoubtedly so do you.

Huh... I couldn't find even $30 worth of BDs I wanted from either retailer and in the previous few years, I'd done almost all my BD/DVD buying for the year between BF and Cyber Week (née Day...)

Not great. I missed cabin in the wood for $7 a few weeks earlier and i did manage to pick up two other 4k movies for $10 but most were running $15 which I consider near normal sale price.

There is that. I was forgetting that this must've been a pretty a big year for 4K BD releases...

Also, there isn't a good commodity player yet. Samsung is wasting everyone's time with a player that doesn't support Dolby Vision.
