Come to think of it, mine too. Maybe that's where I got my infernal hatred for Macs from (these things froze all the damn time, so we had to get a paper clip and manually reset them).

The school I work at over the summer *still* uses eMacs to this day. I can't wait until they go away, so I don't have to haul the 40lb machines all over the place.

2 days ago, my buddy and i go to the local apple store. it was packed, and every single person looked like they just walked out of an apple commercial, trying their best to conform to the non-conformist mold. anyway, i walk over to the software shelf (note singular) and lo and behold, 10 different Sim games, Civ4, CoD2 and Lego Star Wars. I turned to the Dane Cook-wannabe "genius" and asked him "where's oregon trail?" answer: "is that a PC game? cuz we can do windows games better than PC's"

i didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

iMac's were popular for one reason: simplicity and size.

if you think about it, windows 98 wasn't exactly that stable either.

the mouse does suck though.

Windows 98 SE rocked. Compared to ME and some other OSes, it was great. I used it up until 1 year after the release of XP when I fully abandoned 98SE.

iMacs, now called eMacs; I sure hope they EOL'd those pieces of crap

Yup, I don't think you can buy eMacs anymore.

I have an eMac, they are not bad machines, though quite outdated now. Lightyears ahead of the "flavored" iMacs.

My first interaction with an iMac was at a Computer City. They had it sitting in a little kiosk, I opened the cd-rom drive on it and popped in a demo cd that was sitting on the kiosk. I found out why it was sitting there as soon as it started to spin up. It vibrated the whole kiosk and made a horrid buzzing noise.

I remember when I had to use the imac that I used to play nanosaur when I asked for permission... Apparently when my whole class playing Nanosaur when a substitute was supervising, another teacher walked in, told everyone to go back to class, and then got the computer administrator to remove all Nanosaur games...

I also think we also got the substitute fired too.... Hmm...
