Everybody here always talks about the degenerating foulifying state of posts here on ATOT, how it's nothing but a piece of garbage, just a huge chatroom, etc... so I'm wondering... what was it like in the good old days?

When WW posted her wit, when Russ and Red Dawn ruled the flamefests, when Jerboy and Paulson took the heat from everybody, when linuxboy posted thoughts about the meaning of life, when baffled2 was the respected female of the boards, when debates took pages of space and continued for days, allowing thought to develop, rather than showing up in a multitude of 3-post threads that get locked for their repetativeness.

At least, that was it for me. I know I haven' t been here as long as some.

Paige has hit the nail on the head. Though there were many useless posts in the old days too. Butter anyone? ;)

And i remember during those same days that you're now reminiscing on people were saying how the old days were better.

Same here, less people posted 'does anyone care' because this is off topic and its just a place to say whatever. More respect basically.

Dannylove's babe threads! :p

And how about when disagreements didn't end with some kid signing your E-mail up for homosexual pornography.

The main thing I remember about ATOT is that I woke up at 8:45 on 9-11-01 and saw the thread about a plane hitting the WTC... I turned on CNN and couldn't move the rest of the day.

Not that that was a 'good old day' but it brings back the times when I spent hours here....Now I just pass through 15-20 minutes a day... Seems like there are not many threads worth clicking on anymore.

Wow, it feels like it was such a long time ago that happened. It was only a year to two years ago that happened.

Got a question, about the good old days. Remember that dude who faked his online fiance who was also an AT member? Did she also post a lot? Were people fooled by that, and tried to hook it up with her? Must feel really dumb to find out she was no one, just that guy himself.

The real oldtimers will say before FuseTalk but when I joined in Feb 2001 I thought things were still pretty good.

If I happened upon AT for the first time tomorrow I doubt I'd join.
