I'm looking for a free web based email to use that could be considered a good service. What do you use and what do you recommend?

i use yahoo. It's fast and easy.
Otherwise I use Squirrelmail which I have installed on the domains I own. It's a cool program.

*edit*
Heh, mucman beat me to it. Squirrelmail rules. :)
I have Ghetto Booty Mail :)

I would do it myself, but I am not finacially secure enough to own domains and subscribe to services. I nothing more than a student with lots of tuition debt. But I will keep squirrlemail in mind. :)

My domain cost me $9 per year and the machine is an old Cyrix 366 (overkill for what it does). It's hosted from my cable connection without a problem.

Cool, where can I sign up for this $9 domain service? Do you know of any good alternatives for web hosting if you don't have a cable or dsl connection?

Squirrel Mail is nice. I'm trying to get it to work with getmail and courrier imap so that I can download my mail from my ISP's pop server and then serve them back to me via Squirrel Mail...

squirrelmail is nice and simple.. i would have liked to install the latest version of IMP 3.1 but that required installing Horde and PEAR which seemed like too much work to install a webmail client.

Currently use Yahoo as a "Spam" account and Netscape as an alternative. Have a Hotmail account but I can't remember the password or state/zip I used to register.

Just signed up for Zapo. Thanks for the pointer! :)

I use Yahoo!Mail as my primary address. I can access my ISP's and school's POP3 accounts via it. Never had any trouble, but I have paid for a bigger inbox (not have 25 MB of space).
