The premise:

You get to be one of several characters.

You get to be Prez. and bomb the country of your choice. You send troops in or maybe go in yourself (it's a game after all) and kill the enemies and you win once you find the terrorist/leader of your choice and unearth WMDs!

The people throw roses at your feet!

Another possible character is someone who gets to interrogate terrorists/unsavory leaders. People look the other way since time may be an issue. Many creative torture devices are at your disposal and when you get confessions to 9/11 you win!

You could be an assassin!

Possibilities abound!

At the end the world gets liberated, the world gets remade on our image, and you image goes down in history of other people who tried to do the make the rest of the world just like them.

It would go gold in no time.

Once people have vented their spleen, then maybe they can get back to reality and figure out how to deal with tough complicated situations in a constructive fashion.

I know this is some sort of corny post. But I think it was Gamespy that did an article on political games and how they were an attempt to make gamers interested in politics but they have all been failures. They've mainly been failures because they were all crappy games. I think a war on terrorsm political / strategy game would be a lot of fun especially if it attempted to be somewhat accurate such as rome total war.

Does your game include NPCs that, when you click on one the volume goes to max and they shout trite phrases, insults, and constant criticism - usually playing both ends of an issue? I really think it would add to the reality aspect of the game.
