What was your parent's reply the first time you engaged in fisticuffs?

I remember my first fight(when we used our fists, and not guns to settle things).
I was 5 years old, and we had been in the new neighborhood about a month.
I was hanging out with the kid that lived next door(he would become my friend of 21 years), and there was a kid across the street. I waved at the kid across the street, and he proceeded to come over and whip my azz.

So I run home, and cry to my mom. "mom this kid just beat my azz, wah, wah, wah, what can I do?" i say, she replies "well son, what do you want me to do? Beat his ass next time!" I was floored, I thought I would get in trouble for fighting.

The next 9 times me and that kid fought, I owned him everytime....................

We have, but most of us Americans have never heard fisticuffs. ;)

My mom was always of the school, "Don't start the fight, but you make sure you finish it!" That's what I'm teaching my children as well. So far it's worked nicely for my 13 year old.

I am an American, I just prefer that word over fight. It sounds "classy".

"That's it! Sir, I challenge you to fisticuffs!"
"Aaaaahhhhh ha ha ha haaaa ha ha!!!!!

I was a Freshman in high school, it was in the gym locker room. I got the worst of it, but it was against the Official School Jock, and he was a good 9 inches taller than me. I was standing the entire time and never looked away. I got maybe one good punch in, right underneath the eye :) We were both suspended for a day. I got to stay at home and chill - he was suspended from that night's baseball game.

Oh yea, suspensions. I loved those (I got into alot of fights).
My parents would ground me when I got suspended, but only from leaving the house. I had a nintedo, a genesis, and a tv and vcr. I would always finish a weeks worth of school work in about 2 days, after that, it was nintendo time!

Oh, yeah. My parents were behind me. I told them he started it (which was true) and they were cool.
