What was your first Transformer toy?

I never, ever had Transformers when I was a kid...I just didn't like "action figures". No GI Joes, no He-Man, none of that stuff. I just had stacks of Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels.
 
I can hardly remember the fact that I played with them every day for years. How am I supposed to remember the first one?

haha me too on the matchbox and hot wheels. but i did have a few of the others. Transformers were different though, they weren't really action figures...cause they were all cars. and they weren't really cars, cause they were action figures...hehe. 😕

Man, you ought never to forget your childhood... You can forget yesterday and the day before, but its much harder to forget your childhood IMO.
 
When I was 7 I had a train transformer. I put the two wires underwater and got bubbles. I trapped the bubbles in 2 babyfood jars and noticed I always got twice as much gas in one jar than the other. I was the nerd prototype LOL.
 
man I must be old. I predate the transformers. I was lucky enough to play with the originals. My dad used to travel to japan and bring me back early "transformers" like Voltes 5. The robor would fold down into a semi truck. I also had a kick ass Mazinger Z robot.
 
It was weird... my first was Grimlock I think... and then I got his Stegasaurus(sp) buddy, Slag(??).
Then it was 2 Omega Supremes... my relatives goofed and got me 2 complete lion Voltrons as well that year. I'm still glad I have my Robotech Mars Alpha Fighter still got that box & figures too! 😀

 
Mine was Starscream. I was pretty big onto Transformers until after the movie came out (still one of the most awesome movies ever!) and I lost interest in all the new characters. Then I got heavy into GI Joe!
 
i dont remember my first, but i had tons and tons. starscream was my fav cuz he whined a lot.. i had optimus prime, all the dinosaurs, all the constructocons, galvatron, hot rod... oh man memories... i was one spoiled little kid tho (weird cuz im not spoiled at all now 🙂) and i had that 3 foot tall autocon base thing. the base turned into one big robot thing.. oh man that thing was peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyimp
 
Hmmm the first one I can remember is the optimus prime one I think. I had him. He was the red Big Rig right? With the grey metal trailer thing on the back I think?

And the other one I remember......I forget what he was called, but he had this tape recorder thing in his chest and it had a cassette in it, but the cassette was actually 3 little tiny robots put together to look like a cassette. Then those little robots got out to whoop ass or something.

and then I had some spaceship thing, well needless to say that thing prolly wasn't even a transformer but I used it with my transformers anyways 🙂

Mazinger Z - Is that a TRAN-ZOR-Z???? I want one!!! I want one!!!! where can I get one!!!
 
Either Soundwave or Skywarp (the third plane... Thundercracker, Starscream, Skywarp).

The movie is great.
 
one of the early ones. before dinobots or constructacons. i had a ton, the guy behind me had a ton, we'd play transformers all the time. another guy had the big 3' tall autobot fortress thing. musta weighted 20 lbs.
 
Well my first full size Transformer was Jazz... but I had several of the smaller ones by that time so I guess my real first one was Brawn.
 
I don't know what his name was but I had the guy who turned into a cassette player, was that shockwave? I also had about 3 cassettes for him, one became a vulture, one became a puma, and the third one was something else.... later on I got Optimus Prime!!! I loved Transformers (I was about 11 and watched all of the cartoons too) 😉
