I've never been into the bleeding edge. Top end of the midrange is what I always aim for, then a decent overclock without getting ridiculous on the cooling equipment.

I overclocked my Pentium II 233MHz to 333MHz and had a 3Dfx Banshee, and PowerVR m3D. That was the ultimate gaming machine period.
