Golden Axe, considering just PC games. However, having little access to a computer was a problem.
For Sinclairs, there was a game named Ripper

Great PC games for me in chronological order (?):
Zork
Archon
Choplifter
Harpoon
Civilization
Doom
Starcraft
:p

EDIT: These all represented different games on mostly different computers, from Atari 800 up through late-90's Pentium 2. BTW, I'm assuming that by PC you didn't mean IBM PC (Wintel) descendants only.

Duke Nukem 3D. I had a friend with a home network and we spent hours blasting each other in this game.

Diablo and AOE wasted far more of my time though.

Either LHX or Dune II.

LHX was a helicopter game, and Dune II is what started the whole the entire real-time simulation games such was Command&Conquer, Total Annihilation, etc.

i'd have to say half-life, i played many other games, but half-life (and mods) is the only game I'm still playing today since the day it came out (what does that make it...7...8 years?)

Man -- I was hooked by ZORK. Anyone still play that? There is now a site that has all the old Infocom text games in Java online!
