On oldschool Apple- Karateka (spelling?) wasted countless hours at school kicking people in the crotch

PC-
First game that I played for a long time, arcade style, was a Dick Tracy game. It came bundled with the Disney Soundsource, an external sound device that plugged into the parallel port. It also worked with Wolf3d. Used it for 6 months+ until I could afford my Gravis Ultrasound.

Then I moved on to some classics:
Chuck Yaeger Air Combat
Sam&Max hit the road
Earthseige

Of course, Wolf3d, but I spent more time playing the next game that they released. Can't recall the name, but it was the same thing except space aliens/monsters instead of Nazis.

I remember Karateka. If you made the mistake of running toward the princess at the end, you ended up being the one kicked in the crotch.

Some other classic Apple II games:

Olympic Decathlon
Bilestoad
SubLogic Flight Simulator
Swashbuckler
Dung Beetles

Those were the early days when Electronic Arts was like 7 programmers and they got their pictures in their ads like rock stars and games were sold on 5.25" floppies in zip lock bags.

Mickey's space adventure or winnie the pooh and the hundred acre wood. Both on Tandy 1000EX.

Starflight (c 1986) is the first game that I would say is truly deserving of "really great" since it had so much depth for the time.
