Ha, the GeForce 256... good times. It was nothing compared to my card now... talk about high resolution videos! My favorite thing is seeing the latest famous nude male celebs It's crazy the things these guys are willing to post on their Instagram and stuff... selfies are just the beginning.

Technically an ATI Rage Pro with my Pentium II, but first discrete was an Inno3D Geforce FX5500 that I eventually traded 11 years later for 2 Shawermas.

I remember fondly, getting a Radeon 9100 or 9200, it was either an XFX or a Hercules, or maybe a DiamondMM variety, I think. It was sold at Microcenter. The thing that made it special was, it was a 128-bit bus variant, whereas the other variants of that GPU model, were all 64-bit. (Or maybe, it was 32-bit and 64-bit bus? I forget, but I seem to recall it being one of the first early 128-bit bus cards.) 3DMark01, or maybe 99, those were good times.

Edit: Something along the lines of this Hot Deal. Only, I think I bought it at MC B&M. I don't know if I did Internet shopping back then.

4 mb Riva 128, I think that's what it was called.
My next card was the 16mb TNT I believe.

I remember doing CAD work using Cadkey on my amber Hercules Graphics Card and matching monitor and thinking it was the greatest thing ever invented (ugly as sin, but still great).

The Matrox Millenium was a great 2D card, but when paired with original 3dfx Voodoo it resulted in a great combo (original Mechwarrior, anyone?).

Radeon HD5450 in 2010 if you consider it legit. If you don't then HD7750 in 2012.

ti4200. Not my first, but would say my first 'legit' card that could handle any games from its time to my satisfaction.

Mine was a 3d rage! Though in those days it was always hand me downs for me. The first card i bought (used) was a tnt2. The first card i bought new with my own money was a radeon 9700pro at launch with my dual athlon mp 2100+s lol

Thinking it would have been the Matrox Millennium G200 followed by a Voodoo 3 3000 about a year later. I want to say there was one before that but it might have been just a 2d card.

ATI Rage Pro, but that was soon replaced with a Voodoo 2.

A lot of the above responses make me feel rather old. Not many of us that had cards in the 90's it seems.

Tell me about it. I remember the Pure 3D like it was yesterday, but I got it in 97.

1 MB Trident card. I think I replaced it with a Diamond Viper 1 or 2 MB card a few years later.

Had to go through a couple of boxes to find my notebooks but it was a Trident TVGA8900 1MB ISA card, it was the first GPU I ever owned but the first I bought with my own money was a Matrox Millennium II 8MB PCI card, back then I would replace hardware sometimes twice a year (my dad called it a learning experience).
