Just curious what you all have done.

Me = my current job at a grocery store, trying to get a new one though (I'm a college student, so I'm not some 35 year old guy working in a grocery store)

I worked a few months in a gas station/convenience store kinda place. Never liked the guy I worked for, and the shift managers were douche bags who made me do their work then would rat me out to the boss for not doing my own. I quit after 3 months and went to work at a restaurant that a friend's parents owned.

i worked at a nursery and flower shop in phoenix during one fall in high school. mostly i watered all the plants, but sometimes i rode along on deliveries or pick-ups. it was fairly hot and when we were done watering all the plants, it was time to start all over again!

i learned surprisingly little about plants during the three months i worked there.

Worked at my moms flower shop when I was in HS.
Worked at Subway as my first non-family related job in HS.

First job out of college was sales at a wire distribution company. Did it for a week and realized it was bullshit. Ended up doing medical/dental/life underwriting a month later and have been in the insurance field for the last 11 years.

I swept, mopped, and waxed the floor at a small tea / coffee shop. I wasn't old enough to be legally employed, so they paid me in pounds to loose leaf tea and coffee. :)

My first real job was at Wendy's for 3 weeks :p

After that, I worked under the table for my friend's uncle who owns a fairly large self-storage place. I mostly kept his computers up and running but also had to help customers etc. This lasted a few months and I finally got a "real" job after that.

Worked at Discount Tire. The summers sucked being in AZ with the 110 degree heat but it was pretty good money.

Worked at a used car lot washing cars, putting those loud stickers with the price on the windows, taking cars to the mechanic to be fixed, etc. They paid me under the table, so it wasn't official. My first official job was at some kids place with the maze, bounce house, etc.

Worked at a cabinet shop helping create cabinets and install them. Definitely taught me that manual labor is some hard work and how to work for your money!

I worked at an oilfield supply company doing labour jobs ... from sweeping to pushing pipes into lathes to packaging the end product up and moving it via forklift onto trucks. Mostly it was just grunt tasks though.

I worked at the Carnegie Science Center for 3 years beginning in my Junior year of HS. It was DAMN good money for a high school job, but it was exactly that. There were 35 year old people there who thought they were still in high school and liked to stir up drama about who liked who, etc. I was doing computer work for this small company that was hired as contractors for various other businesses around the area at the time, so I just picked up more hours with them.

Now I have a real job. :D

When I was 13, I worked in my friend's dad's comic shop as a cashier. I did it during the summer so I hung out there with friends and it was basically goofing off all of the time. I got paid in lunches and store credit which was perfectly fine for me then.

I worked for cash doing construction one summer for my first real job. Everyone was an alcoholic and the drinking began when the boss was out of town.
