I had a Pentium 66mhz, 8mb RAM, 404mb HD, 14.4 modem, 13in monitor, Win 3.11...cost about $3000.

All I needed was DoomII...=)

I still have it at home...and it still works!!!

Dell 386 - 40 meg HDD, 2 meg of RAM, 13" monitor, SVGA!! Graphics (top notch, ran Harvard Graphics like a pro!), DOS 4.0 on big ol floppies, came with both the 5.25 and 3.5 inch floppy drives (once again, top notch!) - all this for the bargain basement price of $3500 or so in 1990. And I used it for 7 years (my next computer was a P200 MMX, besides a 486 black and white laptop)

486DX - 33MHz, 8Mb RAM (all the slots were filled), 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives, and 200MB and 500MB hard drives. It had a 14.4 modem and had DOS 6.0 + Win 3.1, all combined with a 14" Viewsonic monitor. Over $3K around 1994, I think.

Well, the computer was put together by my uncle (I was about 11 at the time) for my family. Maybe the modem was added later. It was top-notch when it came out and very pricey. I think it was the fastest 486 when we got it.

Apple Macintosh IIci in 1990

25MHz Motorola 68030
4MB memory
80MB SCSI HDD
no CD
13" Apple color monitor

My dad says he paid about $8,000

Memory was added to 24MB or so at expense of $1,000

That is 1990 $9,000's.. Unbelievable eh?

Its soul is still here. I gutted everything out, but the case is on my desk. There is nothing inside except for few ocassion I need to hide something from the parents. It makes a great monitor stand.
