Was just thinking about my old monster fusion I had back in the day, you know your first accelerator is like your first car, you never seem
to forget how fast they went!

P.S. I know I left out quite a few just let me know if yours isn't on the list and I'll add it

I went from a 2mb POS non accelerated card to a Diamond Viper V770 TNT2 Ultra 32mb.

QUITE a difference.

12mb Diamond Monster II (voodoo2). I still use it in one of my computers to play CS :). Works pretty good too.

Voodoo2 12 meg

I went into the local computer shop, asking what the deal was with this "3D Acceleration" I had heard mention of. One of the people there showed me Quake 2 on a Voodoo, and I was literally speechless. :Q

I later got a TNT2 TM64 (or whatever the low-end one was called), and then a Voodoo 5 5500, and then a GeForce 3, which I am using now. I have no plans to upgrade until something significant comes along, with PERFECT Linux drivers. The only reason I didn't get a Radeon 8500 is because I didn't know (and still don't) what kind of Linux support, if any, is available.

You've left off a LOT of chipsets.

Mine was a Rendition Verite V1000.

Woohoo, Verite Quake!

Oops. I picked Matrox G400 (I got a G450) but I should've chosen ATi Rage II.

BTW, your poll assumes no room for n00bs.
