Robotron really wasn't that much of an improvement over Bezerk. OTOH Smash TV was vastly better in almost every way.

Blasphemy and lies.

Robotron plays almost nothing like Berzerk. Berzerk is a slow maze shooter after all. Smash TV is a poor copy of Robotron that requires pumping quarters into the machine to keep going, whereas Robotron is a game of reflexes and skill.

RYGAR. This game was the bomb when it first came out.
The local arcade had it and people were lining up to play it.
The owner then posted a reward for any one that can get 1 million pts first.
The day he posted the reward, I played it a few times and got the million.
Seeing how someone got it so quickly, he reneged on the reward. I think it was 100 tokens or something like that. Bastard !!

Definitely JOUST.
If the extra man/bird was set at 10K, I can play that game forever.

That's one of my favorites as well. All those old Williams games were hard as hell to get good at, but once you did a good game could go on for hours. Robotron/Joust/Defender are all near the top of the list for me.

That reminds me of Bayou Billy or Macintosh's Lode runner. Man did I have fun making maps for that game.

The one on my best friend's back porch when I was around 14. His dad bought a pinball machine. We could play it for free. His dad had had a lot of experience with them in an earlier life. I could never get enough of playing it. I could buy one now and put it in my house but it probably wouldn't be the same.
