What was your college application essay about?

With the sudden influx of "rate my essay" threads sprouting up I became nostalgic for my own college application essay in the days long past.

My essay was about ice cream. That's right, ice cream. I attributed ice cream to character growth and development. Just a silly topic that I had fun with and enjoyed writing. I remember the school counselors loving it.

What was your application essay based on? For those still in high school, what do you think you'll write about?

The development of fig newtons as a source of comedic rhetoric for vagrants in Witchita, Ka.

The last one I wrote was quite philosphical IIRc...quite nice..too bad it prolly got deleted off of my PC somewhere

I went to Rutgers, they don't require one.

How beers could you chug during the second interview?

You must be thinking of my school, Arizona State University, ranked the #1 party school by playboy, if only because Jenna Jameson lives in Scottsdale.

Heck, I turned in my application a full two weeks late and still got a full scholarship.

Honestly, I wish I could remember. I only ended up applying to two schools--I got into both, went to one, and ended up eventually transferring to the other. Funny how things work out sometimes.

I can give you lots of detail as to what my grad school statements of purpose are about, though. Oh, how I love their standard formulae.

None of my colleges require them. They all option them, so I'm turning one in for everywhere but Penn State (300 (or some other obscenely low, I can't quite remember) character limit for those of us applying online... Uhhhhhhh good luck writing an essay in that. I write sentences longer than that.

Mine is about the crap I learned while serving as project head on a software development project. It's quite good, if you care to read it.
