What was wrong with "Alphas"

Just finished season1 and halfway through season 2. I heard some bad things about the show, but it is pretty interesting so far.

it was a science fiction show on Syfy... obviously they had to cancel it so they could program in an extra hour of flying ghost sharks.

It was Heroes with less interesting characters.

It started alright as heroes mixed with Crime drama (e.g. NCIS) using powers that seemed fairly limited; but then they decided to crank it to 11 to the detriment of the show.

the characters was really the only thing it had going for it.

still love the episode of big bang where sheldon talks about having the finale on the dvr still waiting for the next season.

I recently finished it on Netflix and thought it was ok. Like Lupi mentioned the characters made the show. I liked Gary. He was my favorite character on the show. His antics always made me chuckle.
