What was worse: the 3do or the Jaguar?

Jaguar....Phillips CD-I was the worst console of all time IMO though(they tried to pitch it as a competitor to the 3DO, it was a competitor to nothing).

I always wondered how 3DO would have done had they released the M2 console.
The M2 IP was owned by Matsushita when it would've been released.

I've always wanted to play BattleTryst on mame, but there is no rom/chd dump that works.

Loved my 3do had a friend that worked at a game store and he would give me crazy deals on the games....

Jaguar was 16/32 bit. It had dual 68000 CPUs same as the Genesis.

Might (big might) have had 64 lines from GPU to VRAM but the 68K is only a 16 bit data bus and 32 bit regs. 16 + 16 != 64 lulz @ "the bit wars".

Then again the TG16 and SNES were technically 8 bit as well. SNES CPU was weak but it didn't do much but poll inputs and update PPU regs.

I had a FZ1, never had a Jag. So you know my answer 🙂

Ill be looking for a complete in box FZ1 again soon for my collection 🙂

Growing up, it was either Genesis or SNES, then Playstation or N64. I didn't know anybody who owned anything else. I've seen the AVGN's review on the Jaguar and it does look pretty terrible.

Same. I knew of the other consoles because I used to read GamePro and EGM every month when I was growing up, and I would always see ads for Jaguar, 3DO, Sega CD, etc, etc. Outside of the SNES, Genesis, and then PSX and N64, I never knew anybody who had any of the other obscure consoles.

I always wanted to play Way of the Warrior when I was growing up, so I always wanted a 3DO really badly.

The Jag was by far the worst system of the two. The 3DO was ahead of it's time. It did not receive the support of the other systems. I still have my 3DO and use of for music. I love the display when listening to music.
