Years ago I was playing around with (what I think was) a shockwave app that would let you create virtual 3d creatures composed of blocks easily (no scripting, no AI).
You could assign a connection between blocks as fixed or hinged (and only allow a certain range of motion) and then 'teach' it to walk, run, jump, turn right, turn left etc.
I remember being able to see other peoples' creations and share my own.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's no longer around, but does this sound familiar to anybody? Googling has turned up similar projects, but not this one.
