What was this board game that somehows predict the future or something ...

I remember seeing it in a couple movies... I dunno if it was a real game or not, but I remember this one board game where everyone put their hands on a cup type thing, and asked a question, and somehow it "just moves" to a spot predicting the future/outcome of the question... I saw it in several movies/shows. Maybe it was just fiction.
