What was the name of those CAT that would scan barcodes for advertising purposes?

Ok, I just found my Cat thing and would like to see if I can mod it to do other stuff than to scan in Barcodes (maybe a remote control) but anyone have any idea what these things are called?


They are shaped as a cat, and have a senson on the front.

they barely work well enough doing what they're supposed to do in the first place, much less anything else. good luck with the mod though.
