What was the name of this mac only Game???

It was the mid 90's I was on a Power PC - hey they were great!

In this arcade style shooter game these things - different little critters - moved across the top of the screen - most of the time you shot and killed them. Sometimes they dropped stuff. Could be good stuff or could kill you. Sometimes it rained coins in a bonus round. Some stuff would land and get you at the bottom of the screen. Do you remember this? What IS this game?? You started out slowly shooting pellets but graduated up a few levels you were shooting out a steady stream of ring shaped ammo.

I reoccurring wonder what this game was - whether it survived etc etc.

But I cant remember the name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Close Aphex!! Looked most like Bugatron with the starship like shooter and some of the targets. Maybe the same game maker but definitely not it.

Thanks to you Aphex, of course. Game was Maelstrom from Ambrosia Software.
