Legend of Mana? That was not a sequel to Secret of Mana.

Secret of Mana = Seiken Densetsu 2.
The real sequel is Seiken Densetsu 3. Which you can play the snes rom translated, since it was never brought over to the U.S.

Legend of Mana is from the same series, but I don't think it's a whole lot like secret of mana was. I never got around to playing it, but I didn't hear very good things about it.

I don't think there was an official Secret of Mana sequel released in the US.

The only two that come close are the two above mentioned games... secret of evermore and chrono trigger. Though I don't think their story lines were directly related to secret of mana.

Secret of Evermore has absolutely nothing to do with Secret of Mana except for the game engine and the similar name. I believe the game was designed by an American development team. While the game concept (alchemy) and the music were pretty good, the overall game was a pretty big disapointment. There were some cool points though, like the market place, and the gameplay system of carrying ingredients to cast magic.

SD3 is quite enjoyable. Even more so with the emulator and net play. However, you have to play about an hour in in order to get 2 player mode.
